About Me
I am a former book editor turned residential real estate attorney living in the suburbs of Chicago. Between family responsibilities, a handful of volunteer commitments, and growing my career, my favorite escape is reading. At the beginning of 2019, I started reviewing books online on Goodreads. In 2020, I started a book review page on Instagram, and I launched this blog the following year during Covid lockdown. As my children have gotten a bit older — they’re both in double digits now — and my law practice has expanded, I’ve had less time to read for fun (and less time to write reviews), but I still have a decent line of books waiting to be reviewed and posted.
Some of my favorite book genres are literary fiction, historical fiction, “chick” lit/women’s fiction, thriller/mystery, science fiction/fantasy/dystopian fiction, but I also enjoy reading nonfiction (especially science, history, and memoirs) and classics. I also read a lot of children’s, middle grade, and young adult books, trying to keep up with what my kids are reading.
When I’m not reading, lawyering, or spending time with my children, I also enjoy quilting, knitting, and cooking. I’m also an avid supporter of and fundraiser for Emily’s Entourage, a nonprofit dedicated to funding medical research to fast track life-saving medications for cystic fibrosis.
