What a year! Who would have guessed we would have spent most of it stuck in our houses? I used my extra time to read (of course,) start reviewing on Instagram, and eventually creating this blog. I’d love it if you left your email address to receive my newsletter.
While I know this year didn’t look like most, I do appreciate that I was able to spend more one-on-one time with my children and husband, while missing family and friends we couldn’t see in person.
This year, I finished 114 books, which (according to Goodreads) means I read 37,188 pages this year. My average star score was a 3.8.
My top 12 (because I couldn’t narrow it to 10) are… (Drum roll, please.)
(1) Night. Sleep. Death. The Stars. by Joyce Carol Oates
(2) Miss Graham’s Cold War Cookbook by Celia Rees
(3) Her Last Flight by Beatriz Williams
(4) The Brilliant Life of Eudora Honeysett by Annie Lyons
(5) Florence Adler Swims Forever by Rachel Beanland
(6) All We Are Saying: The Last Major Interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono by David Sheff
(7) Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman
(8) The Book of Two Ways by Jodi Picoult
(9) The Book of Lost Friends by Lisa Wingate
(10) Better Luck Next Time by Julia Claiborne Johnson (Review coming soon.)
