January started off strong, quantity-wise, with thirteen finishes. Most were fine, but one stood out from the rest.
The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune was my number one for the month, and my first 5 star review of 2021. I finished it so quickly, and I want to go back and read it again and again. In fact, I want to live in the world the author created in this book.
My second favorite of the month was The Rib King by Ladee Hubbard. A strong look at race and class and fighting against corruption, no matter where it comes from. A much more serious book, but one that stays with you when it’s done. I gave this one 4.5 stars.
Looking ahead to February, I have some that look really good on my TBR list, so stay tuned!
Most of my reviews for these books will post in the next couple weeks, so please keep an eye out of for the full reviews. (In the meantime, if any of them sound good to you, I’ve included my affiliate links — no pressure!)
